I’ve recently noticed Pro Web Art which is a website that showcases well designed sites. It shows screen shots of website headers, and it’s a really nice site to browse through – great for inspiration. They also have a section linking through to various design tutorials, including Photoshop tutorials.

Actually after exploring some of the links, I found a good source of fonts for use in design, many of which are free.

I also found a brilliant overview of the current trends in Web 2.0 style design by Ben Hunt; you may have noticed there’s been a trend for glossy, big, bold, simple and bright websites; he discusses this and shows examples. If you have time, have a browse of his site, he has some great tips on modern web design, and a section on CSS Web Design with great explanations and links to resources. He briefly covers most important aspects of modern web design such as writing copy for web, accessibility and site architecture. Jamie discussed the importance of well structured website architecture recently using fairly random parallels to explain…

You might need to put your sunglasses on for this one, but Pixel2life is another source of various tutorials for web design. It’s absolutely covered in advertising, but there are some great links and it’s quite pretty, so you can just about forgive it!
